Seems I'm having to pick between (a) decent sounding built-in speakers and processed/harsher external speakers sound with the Realtek driver, or (b) terrible sounding built-in speakers and normal/working sound with external speakers. And if I switch to the Microsoft audio driver instead of Realtek to get rid of MaxxAudio per this thread, my external speakers sound normal without the harsh tones, but the laptop's built-in speakers then sound absolutely terrible, with no low end (bass) frequencies at all and super harsh high end. Unfortunately, even with all options disabled in the MaxxAudio interface, it colors the audio with an increase in high end and harsh tones on any headphones or external speakers, which is really frustrating. ![]() 1 driver version, as well as the more recent driver version ".1, A25" from ( here) on my Dell XPS 15 9520, but with either driver, I have to have Waves MaxxAudio running and "Audio Enhancements" enabled in order for any sound to work at all (built-in speakers or external). Is this still working for you? I tried that. ![]()
